Dear Volunteers,
As we wrap up the summer season at Zelie’s, we navigate the many changes that are in the future. The team is planning ahead for the growth of Zelie’s Home, and hope to create a welcoming space for new staff and families.
We would like to take the time to extend a special thank you to the volunteers who have supported our staff as we have taken summer vacations. Filling the gaps has kept our days running smoothly, and that is possible because of all of you!
We are looking forward to spending some quality time with the moms at the September “Bond” fire. It will be nice to have a quiet month before we get in the swing of the holidays. Stick with us this fall because there is a lot to come!
We appreciate you always,
The Zelie’s Home Team
Therese’s Nest News
At Therese, we welcomed two new expecting moms who are getting adjusted to the Zelie’s Home community. Everyone is excited for Calonje, who welcomed her baby girl, K’yomi on 8/15/2025. She is coping with the changes and challenges of becoming a new mother.
At both homes, the moms have enjoyed a variety of different community activities. They tested their expertise in the kitchen while pizza making with staff. The next week they had the opportunity to do a creative writing workshop and tap into a new skillset. They even got to play dress up in the mom boutique!

Celine’s Nest News
At Celine’s nest this month there has been a lot of change! We say goodbye to Annie our House Manager and wish her the best of luck on her new journey. The job is posted on our website, and we ask you all to spread the word if you know somebody who is aligned with the mission at Zelie’s Home.

Volunteer News
We have been blessed with many volunteer groups assisting us in the month of August. Many hands make light work! We are so grateful to have had the help of St. Dominic’s youth groups at both houses. They spent time deep cleaning and preparing for new moms to move in.
Case Western’s sorority, Tri Sigma, came to Celine’s nest to do some much needed organizing to the house. They spent time sorting through clothes donations, and even assisted a mom with packing her things to move out.
Thank you to both groups who made life at both of the homes a whole lot easier. Your work goes a long way and we appreciate you!
