Hello! Dear Volunteers, As May winds down, we’re reflecting on a month full of energy, connection and celebrating our mothers. Here at Zelie’s Home, we had many reasons to do just that. Whether they’re current residents or alumnae, the moms in our community consistently show courage, perseverance, and deep love for their children. This month gave us the chance to pause and honor that strength, especially during our Mother’s Day celebration.
Looking ahead, we’ve got a full calendar: Zelie’s Home’s firth birthday party, our June Freebee Jamboree for alumnae moms, and preparations for July summer camp are already in motion. As always, we’re so grateful for your continued time, energy, and care. Whether you’ve been sorting donations, babysitting, helping with events, or grocery shopping, your presence makes a difference. We couldn’t do any of it without your incredible support.
Let’s keep the momentum going as we move in to summer! Thank you!

Alumnae Mother’s Day Event With help from many of you, we created a space that felt warm, joyful, and affirming. The event was a wonderful reminder of why we do what we do—because every mother deserves to feel seen, supported, and celebrated. Thank you, all, for your support!
Freebee Jamboree We’re excited to host our Freebee Jamboree, June 21, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Therese’s Nest—a special event where alumnae moms and their families can stop by and pick up free items from our donation inventory. From housewares and kitchen supplies to bathroom items, clothing, and more, it’s all available at no cost to help support the families who have been part of our Zelie’s Home community.
As always, we could use a few extra hands to help the event run smoothly! Volunteers are needed for set-up, clean-up, packing and loading items into cars, and even light babysitting so moms can browse comfortably.
If you’d like to contribute, we’re also accepting donations of gently used or new household goods, kitchenware, toiletries, and clothing. Items can be dropped off at Therese’s Nest now through June 20. Zelie’s Home Summer Camp Summer Camp will return this July! We’re excited to bring back Zelie’s Home Summer Camp this July. While details are still in the works, we’re looking forward to another great week of activities, learning, and fun! Stay tuned for more info soon! Email Bailey, Volunteer Coordinator

House Coverage
House Coverage volunteers are critical to our nests! At Celine’s nest, we are especially in need of House Coverage volunteers! House coverage includes answering the phones, receiving donations, enforcing house rules, and hanging out with the moms and babies. This is a very important volunteer position, as it allows the MissionCorps to attend meetings, take moms to appointments, etc. House Coverage volunteers usually commit a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly 2-4 hour shift during the week or weekends. The process to become a House Coverage volunteer is the following: 1) Attend a volunteer orientation 2) Complete a background check 3) Sign a volunteer packet Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions!
Thank you for coming out to support our mission, no matter what the circumstance. If you are interested in babysitting for our children please email me! Along with our weekly babysitters, we are always in need of babysitters to fill requests for moms who need to work, run errands, or attend programming or appointments. As our wonderful interns transition out of their roles at Zelie’s Home, we’re reaching out to ask for your support. We are currently in need of volunteer coverage on Tuesdays at Celine from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm to assist with babysitting during our Seeking Safety and Financial Literacy.
